Ultrafiltration Systems Product Description

Industrial ultrafiltration systems (UF modules) consist of semi-permeable capillary fiber membranes with pore diameters ranging from 0.01 to 0.1 microns. These advanced technologies exhibit flawless performance in microbiological purification and high-precision particle removal where conventional sand and carbon filtration methods fall short. They are used safely especially in surface water, river water, well water, or wastewater recycling projects.

System automation fully automatically manages normal production, backwash, and Chemically Enhanced Backwash (CEB) processes via pneumatic valves and PLC automation panels. This smart control mechanism prevents membrane fouling and clogging, providing long-term and high-efficiency operation while completely optimizing operating costs.

High-capacity ultrafiltration systems designed with Elztec Water engineering form a physical barrier without requiring chemical disinfection, blocking bacteria and viruses in water by 99.99%. From municipal water treatment to seawater pre-treatment, it lowers the SDI (Silt Density Index) value of water across many sensitive processes, significantly extending the lifespan of Reverse Osmosis membranes.

Our compact designs built on stainless steel frames or skid-mounted units highly resistant to harsh field conditions offer low energy consumption and high water recovery rates, making a direct and major contribution to sustainable water management and uninterrupted operational performance in industrial facilities.

In Which Fields Are Ultrafiltration Systems Used?

+

Widely preferred especially in surface and river water treatment, as a pre-treatment stage prior to seawater reverse osmosis (SWRO) plants, in greywater and wastewater recycling systems, and during clarification processes in the food and beverage industry, ultrafiltration systems guarantee continuous water quality.

How Does UF Membrane Cleaning and the CEB Process Work?

+

The system periodically performs backwashing using automatic booster pumps. At specific intervals, to remove biological and organic deposits, it engages the PLC-controlled acidic and alkaline Chemically Enhanced Backwash (CEB) process, restoring membrane pores to their original cleanliness.

What Is the Difference Between Ultrafiltration and Reverse Osmosis?

+

Ultrafiltration membranes retain undissolved suspended solids, turbidity, bacteria, and viruses through physical filtration; however, they pass dissolved salts and minerals. Reverse Osmosis, on the other hand, desalinate water by purifying at the ionic level. Therefore, ultrafiltration systems frequently serve as an excellent protective filter ahead of RO units.

What Is the Lifespan of Ultrafiltration Membranes?

+

The average operational lifespan of high-quality hollow fiber UF membranes with proper pre-sediment filtration and regularly executed CEB chemical washings ranges from 3 to 5 years, depending on the raw water pollution load.
