Automatic water softening systems operate on the principle of passing hardness-causing calcium (Ca) and magnesium (Mg) ions in water through a cationic resin bed, exchanging them with sodium (Na) ions. In this way, water hardness is completely removed, obtaining scale-free soft water suitable for industrial processes, boiler rooms, and general domestic use.
System automation is provided by time- or flow-controlled automatic valves. In the event that the resin reaches saturation, the system initiates and completes the regeneration (backwash and rinse) process with brine by itself without requiring human intervention. This smart control mechanism optimizes operational costs while providing uninterrupted and efficient soft water production.
