Industrial ultraviolet disinfection systems use intense UV-C rays at a wavelength of 254 nm to disrupt the DNA and RNA structures of organisms causing microbiological contamination, instantly stopping their reproduction. Unlike traditional chemical methods such as chlorination, it leaves no carcinogenic by-products in the water and strictly does not alter the taste, odor, or pH balance of the water.

Manufactured to advanced engineering standards, these disinfection devices consist of long-life UV lamps housed inside high light-transmittance quartz sleeves and a 304/316 grade stainless steel reactor body. They are safely used across a wide spectrum, from domestic drinking water purification to ultra-pure water lines in the food, beverage, cosmetics, and pharmaceutical industries. Ultraviolet light emitted from UV-C lamps at a wavelength of 254 nanometers disrupts the DNA sequence in the cell nuclei of bacteria, viruses, and spores in the water as it passes through the reactor. Microorganisms with disrupted biological structures lose their reproductive capability, rendering them 99.9% inactive.

What Is the Replacement Interval for UV Lamps?

The average operational lifespan of high-quality UV-C lamps used in industrial ultraviolet disinfection systems is approximately 8,000 to 9,000 hours (about 1 year). At the end of this period, even if the lamp continues to emit visible light, lamp replacement is recommended because the germicidal UV-C radiation intensity will have decreased.
